The Exo Terra Heat Mat serves as a terrarium under-tank heater that mimics the natural warming of surfaces by sunlight. It’s an ideal choice as a main or supplementary heat source, particularly for reptiles active at dawn, dusk, or night.

Usage Guidelines:

The Exo Terra Heat Mat bonds securely to the terrarium base, ensuring efficient heat distribution. It must be paired with a thermostat like the Exo Terra Thermostat to manage the temperature accurately.

Install the heat mat on either the far left or right side of the terrarium to establish a thermal gradient. It should occupy about one-third of the tank’s bottom area. For best results, use with a shallow (1-2") substrate layer. For enclosures with deeper substrate, consider an alternative overhead heat option like the Exo Terra Halogen Basking Spot or the Ceramic Heater.

Attach rubber spacers beneath the terrarium to promote airflow around the mat and prevent potential overheating risks.
