Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB, 22"
UVB is a vital wavelength found in natural sunlight and is essential for the health of most, if not all, reptiles. It plays a critical role in maintaining strong and healthy bones and supports various other important bodily functions for your pet.
The Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB is a high-output T5 linear fluorescent bulb, delivering twice the strength of standard T8 ReptiSun 5.0 bulbs. This enhanced power ensures appropriate UVB levels for low-UVB reptiles, even in larger enclosures. Manufactured in Germany, this premium bulb is trusted and recommended by zoos, veterinarians, and leading reptile professionals worldwide.
Instructions for Use:
Install the 22" Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB bulb into a 24" Zoo Med ReptiSun T5 HO Terrarium Hood and position it over the basking area. This bulb is most effective for low-UVB reptiles in terrestrial (wide) terrariums approximately 48" in length.
Replace the Zoo Med T5 HO ReptiSun 5.0 UVB bulb every 12 months to ensure consistent UVB output. For optimal performance, monitor UVB levels using a Zoo Med Digital UV Index Radiometer or a Solarmeter 6.5.

Note: Different reptiles have unique UVB requirements. Refer to the Arcadia UV Index Lighting Guide to determine the appropriate UVI for your reptile’s basking area.
Distance is measured from the tip of the bulb to the basking area or reptile. UVI estimations are approximate and may be reduced by 30-40% when the UVB bulb is placed over a mesh screen.
