Usage Guidelines:

Place the Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp in a ceramic-socket dome fixture with a wattage rating higher than the bulb. If positioned inside the enclosure, use a protective cage to avoid direct contact burns. Install the lamp on one side of the enclosure to establish a temperature gradient. For larger reptiles, consider using multiple bulbs together for consistent heating.

To extend the bulb's life, wear gloves during installation to avoid transferring skin oils to the glass, and minimize handling, especially when the lamp is in use.

For optimal performance, pair with the Zoo Med Digital Thermometer to monitor basking area temperatures and ensure they meet your reptile’s needs. Place the thermometer probe directly on the basking spot for precise readings. If the temperature is too low, switch to a higher wattage bulb; if too high, use a lamp dimmer to adjust output.
