It's a common misconception that reptiles cannot see red light. In reality, they can, and for nocturnal reptiles, additional light is not needed as they see well in darkness. For diurnal reptiles, red light at night might disturb their sleep patterns and overall rest. Constant light exposure can also interfere with their natural circadian rhythm.
