Waxworms, the larvae of the Greater Wax Moth (Galleria mellonella), are a fantastic treat for reptiles, amphibians, and birds due to their soft texture and appealing taste.

With their naturally elevated fat levels, waxworms are best offered as an occasional snack rather than a primary food source. For a reliable staple feeder, consider exploring dubia roaches or NutriGrubs instead.

Before feeding, ensure to lightly coat waxworms with calcium powder for added nutrition.

Storage Guidelines:

Waxworms can be stored at room temperature for up to two weeks. For extended shelf life, keep them at 50-60°F in a dormant state, lasting up to a month. Avoid temperatures below 50°F.

Store them ideally in a wine cooler with low humidity. If the bedding seems damp upon arrival, remove the lid temporarily to allow drying.

Check daily and discard any dark, deceased worms or cocoons to maintain quality.
