Exo Terra Thermostat, 300w
Reptiles, being ectothermic or "cold-blooded," cannot generate their own body heat and depend on external sources like sunlight to maintain their body temperature. Different reptile species have unique temperature requirements — a temperature ideal for a bearded dragon could be harmful to a leopard gecko, for instance. Therefore, carefully managing the temperature within your reptile’s habitat is crucial.
The Exo Terra Thermostat is a non-proportional (on/off) device designed to regulate the temperature of non-light emitting heat sources such as ceramic heat emitters, heat pads, radiant heat panels, and heat cables or tapes.
Featuring a recessed dial to avoid unintended temperature adjustments during handling, this thermostat also includes a waterproof remote sensor, making it suitable for use in damp terrariums or aquatic setups. Its electronic Triac switch ensures precise temperature control, maintaining the set temperature with greater accuracy than traditional thermostats and minimizing temperature fluctuations in the enclosure.
How to Use:
Plug your heat source into the Exo Terra ON/OFF Thermostat, adjust to the desired temperature, and position the sensor in the appropriate location. A Red LED indicator will glow when the heat source is active and turn off once the target temperature is achieved.
Always set the Exo Terra Thermostat based on the specific needs of your reptile. Research the preferred optimum temperature range (POTR) for your pet to establish the correct thermal gradient in the terrarium, enabling proper thermoregulation.
Note: The 300w Exo Terra Thermostat is compatible with heating devices up to 300w.
